How to maintain your manicure and enhancements.

Nail tech and client -friendly.

Having your nails done, whether it's acrylic/gel extensions or a manicure on your natural nail, will require maintenance. We will give you Xisnails top tips to keep your manicure long-lasting so you can save the inconveniences of making extra trips to the salon.

Cuticle oil.

Cuticle oil is paramount for maintaining your manicure and the health of your cuticles and nail beds. Healthy cuticles are the foundation of healthy nail growth begins. All new nail cells are formed here (the matrix).

Healthy nail growth also means stronger nails, which allow you to have a stronger bond with your nail enhancement and last longer. With brittle nails, it's harder to maintain extensions. We infuse our cuticle oils with herbs such as horsetail, lavender and chamomile for extra protection and nourishment.

Proper removals.

All enhancements, from gels to acrylic, require proper removals. Purposely pulling or picking away at your nail enhancements can cause significant damage to your natural nail plate, ripping layers off with the false nail. Ensure you visit your professional nail technician to remove your enhancements properly. Ensure 80% of the product has been filed down using either an e-file or Xisnails 80/80 or 100/100 grit shape-it the sharp nail file and soak the rest with acetone specially designed to dissolve the product. You can then use Xisnails 180/180 nail files to remove residue and shape the natural nails.

Using gloves, while cleaning.

It's essential to wear gloves while cleaning as the hot temperature and chemicals can cause the polish and top coat to dull and lose that amazing shine you left the salon with! It can also cause chipping to the nail, leading them not to last as long as possible.

Regular salon visits

Return to your nail tech every 14- 28 days. A rebalance, also known as an infill, is essential to get around this time. The apex (strength of the nail) has moved most of the weight of the nail closer to the free edge, so it's time to get the nails back where they need to be! You can also fix the shape, chips and lifting (if any) and get a fresh and put-together look. If left beyond this time frame, it could cause damage and infection to your natural nails.

To conclude..

Having your nails done by a professional nail tech is a luxury that deserves quality maintenance so that you and your nail tech can continue to enjoy regular appointments and maintain the health of your natural nails. Follow these steps for the best results!
